Following the successful introduction and airing of the animated adventure series Knorr Quest for the Noodle Pot in 2010, Knorr launched the second season of its exciting 3D animated Urdu adventure cartoon series, ‘Knorr Noodle Gang Kay Adventures’ with the premiere of their first episode at the SOS Children’s Village in Lahore. The series is aimed at children and families, encouraging the spirit of adventure, imagination and out of the box education. With celebrity voice over artists introduced for the first in Pakistan by Knorr in their first season, this second series includes voiceovers by celebrity artists featuring Khalid Anum as the Mayor of Knorr Kounty, Adeel Hashmi as Chuck, Beo Rana Zafar as Sweety Poo and Arjumand Rahim as Sizzly . The series also features a song with vocals by Shehzad Roy, who has been associated with the Knorr brand since the first series.
Further, the Knorr team expanded their edutainment platform by launching two books for children; “Plus Ka Jadoo” and “Toh, Boltay Kyun Nahin?” Conceptualised and authored by Salma Shehzad, the books inspire children to communicate openly and think actively through creative learning. Launched in collaboration with Gup Shup, an organisation dedicated to promote Pakistan’s national and regional languages, these two books contain 3D animation illustrations and will now be distributed to more than 200,000 children across Pakistan through Knorr’s Corporate Social Responsibility partners Idara-e-Taleem-o-Agahi, The Citizens Foundation & Alif-Leila, free of cost. The book distribution has started from the SOS Hermann Gmeiner School in Lahore at the SOS Children’s Village. Furthermore, in continuation of Knorr’s association, with Shehzad Roy and his pioneering Zinadagi Trust, that first started in 2010 with the launch of the first animated cartoon series at Zindagi Trust and Bookgroup’s SMB Fatima Jinnah Government Girls School, these books were introduced by Salma Shehzad and Shehzad Roy.
The event at the SOS village started with the recitation of verses from Holy Quran by Moeen, a student enrolled at the SOS school followed by a brief introduction by the host for the event Sidra Iqbal. She was followed by senior brand manager Raheel Pasha on stage who interacted with the children and spoke about Unilever and Knorr’s dedication towards making education entertaining for children. After Raheel concluded, the first episode of the second season of Knorr Gang Kay Adventures was aired and viewed by the students of the SOS school. This was followed by Shehzad Roy spoke about his long term association with Knorr and sang the theme song of the series while interacting with the children. The Vice President Foods Unilever Farihya Subhani was then invited on stage to present small tokens of partnership to Baela Jamil from Idara-e-Taleem-o-Agahi and Mrs. Basarat from The Citizens Foundation. Farihya Subhani further called on stage and thanked film actress Resham, fim actress Noor, singer Shehzad Roy and Director and creative producer of the Knorr Gang Kay Adventures series cartoon Semyne Khan for their participation in the event and their support.
Speaking about the launch of the books, Salma Shehzad via video conference at the event said: “Upon creating the books, the Knorr team and Gup Shup mainly concentrated on the message that the book would give to young students, including making their learning experience thought provoking and fun thus grasping their interest. In addition this is the first time in Pakistan where an Urdubook has been created in 3D illustrations that can mostly be seen in 3D animations, thus enhancing children’s learning experience and interests”
Speaking about the book launch and the Knorr Noodle Gang Kay Adventures, Raheel Pasha, Senior Brand Manager for Knorr, said, “The Knorr Noodle Gang Kay Adventures animated series is aimed at eliminating boredom by entertaining Pakistani children while at the same time educating children all about good eating habits. The dramatic story telling, captivating Knorr characters with celebrity voiceovers and exciting animation makes the Knorr message of Edutainment fun and powerful. Nowadays, many action-packed adventure series are dark, with heroes who use violence to fight the evil forces; on the other hand, the Knorr series consciously stays away from violence and empowers children to bring about a positive change in their respective communities. On the same note, Knorr has collaborated with Gup-Shup to produce two books, namely ‘Plus ka Jadoo’ and ‘Tou Boltay Kyun Nahin’. These books follow the same theme of educating children in a fun and entertaining manner. Knorr, along with its CSR partners Idara-e-Taleem-o-Agahi, The Citizens Foundation & Alif-Leila, plans to take these books on-ground to reach more than 200,000 children across Pakistan.”
