Washington, DC: The Friends of Pakistan Club Spring Gala 2009 ‘Special Blessings’.

The beneficiary for this year’s Gala is a non-profit organization, the Fund for Inclusion of People with Disabilities. The FIPD aspires to encourage and fund projects designed to equip and empower these individuals with the required skills. The intention is to facilitate the disabled not only to help themselves but also to contribute towards the socio-economic development of their communities.

The Fund was established in 2006 by Mr. John Wall who was the World Bank Country Director, Pakistan. So far FIPD has touched the lives of more than 3,500 people suffering from various disabilities. Projects focus on sight and hearing impaired; vocational training sessions and distribution of aids for the disabled.
