New York: OPEN & ALI’s “Go Global: New York Welcomes Designers from Pakistan”
200 distinguished guests, 15 models, 4 designers, and numerous volunteers gathered for “Go Global: New York Welcomes Designers from Pakistan.”

Creative Directors Hisham Oumlil (Oumlil, Loro Piana) and Althea Harper (Project Runway, Alexander McQueen, Tory Burch) spoke about their experience in creating eponymous fashion start-ups in a tough economy. The speakers fielded questions from the audience, while ALI organizer Salman Khokhar moderated the discussion.

After an opening set, BQP played along as the Ford Modeling Agency beauties burst through the backstage curtain and modeled thirty-four different looks from five visionary designers – HSY, Alia Khan, Nadia Zafar, Mera Anwar; with jewelry by Saadia Zafar - in a stunning display of creativity ranging from whimsical to progressive South Asian formalwear to metropolitan chic.
