I am the immigration lawyer for Javaid Law Firm. I also
promote pro bono work in the legal community by serving
as the Pro Bono Coordinator for the two main non-profit
legal agencies in the Charlotte area, Legal Services
of Southern Piedmont and Legal Aid of North Carolina.
After obtaining my British Law degree, I completed
a Masters in Law from the University of Houston Law
Center in Texas. I then took the New York State Bar
and am a licensed attorney.
I am originally from the frontier side of Pakistan.
However, I grew up in different cities of Pakistan,
as my father was posted across the country while being
in the army. My father is a retired Lieutenant General
from the Army. Most recently, he served as the President
of National Defense University. I have a wonderful husband,
Hanan Javaid. My husband is also an attorney. I come
from a family where education is given a lot of importance.
My grandfather Abdul Hashim served as Vice Chancellor
of the University of Peshawar, the Quaid-e-Azam University
and the People University (now the Allama Iqbal Open
University). He also served as the Minister for Education
and was the first Chairman of the Board of Intermediate
and Secondary Education in the North West Frontier Province.
His dedication to academics and the strong values have
always been a great source of inspiration to me and
our family.

My father instilled in me that it was
very important for women to be educated. He has been
my greatest motivation. He encouraged me to follow my
dream of becoming a lawyer, which I had since my early
teen years. I've also been very fortunate to have my
husband, who has been extremely supportive throughout
my career and has always believed in me.
Being an immigrant myself, I understand the significance
of the immigration process. Therefore, I decided to
assist others in their immigration process. I also participated
in the immigration clinic, where I won both of the asylum
cases that I worked on. This was a great experience
for me and made me realize how much I enjoyed working
in the field of immigration law.
The spouse of a US citizen can adjust status
by applying for an I-485. This will adjust their status
to a permanent resident as a spouse of a US citizen
in the United States. However, this can only be done
once the initial petition has been approved.
Fees vary depending on the services needed by our clients.
However, Javaid Law Firm has competitive legal fees,
and we charge a small initial consultation fee.

Not submitting the evidence required of them,
which may result in a delay of their citizenship process
or even a denial in some cases. Also, not keeping up
to date on the process and keeping USCIS updated with
any information changes since the petition was filed,
such as moving to a new location.
Immigration law is always evolving and
being updated. An attorney can help advise you on that
and keep you up to date on the laws. An immigration
lawyer can also tell you what your best course of action
is for immigration purposes. Unfortunately, I have seen
many cases where individuals fail to understand that
it is a very complex area of the law and end up making
a major error, which may result in deportation proceedings
or denial of their petition.
We are hoping to expand by adding additional
offices across the U.S. and in Pakistan. Also, we will
continue providing dedicated client service.
I can be reached by phone at (704) 927-5883 or via
email at rabia@javaidlawfirm.com. Also, if you want
additional information, you can visit our website at
www.javaidlawfirm.com.
Let us all strive to do well and represent Pakistan
in a positive light. As Pakistanis, we should support
one another and do what we can to move forward together
as a nation.
