(Lahore, April 28, 2008) On Sunday,
Still Waters Publishing brought to Lahore their critically
acclaimed coffee-table book entitled “Revived:
The Journey Within”. The book was introduced
to the city at the famed Tollinton Market, a fitting
venue given its chronological and cultural value and
presence in Lahore’s old city – the historical
hub of cultural activity.
Conceived by Jewellery designer Kiran
Aman and written by renowned journalist Khadija Malik
Hassan the book is based on Kiran Fine Jewellery’s
gold collection entitled “Revived,” which
depicts the four emotional states of a woman as conceived
by Kiran Aman. In the book, the Revived emotional
state philosophy on which these designs are based,
has been applied to the lives of 14 women from Pakistan’s
fashion and design industry, including:
Banto Kazmi , Faiza Samee, Fareshteh
Aslam , Frieha Altaf, Maheen Khan, Mehvash Amin, Muniba
Kamal , Nabila, Nilofer Shahid, Rehana Saigol, Rooha
Ghaznavi, Samina Ibrahim, Shehnaz Ismail and Sonya
Battla, many of whom came together from Karachi and
Lahore to attend and lend their support to the book
launch in Lahore.

The event comprised an engaging book
talk given by the critically acclaimed author of ‘Revived
– The Journey Within’ Khadija Malik Hasan,
a short dialogue by renowned journalist and Pakistani
media personality Imran Aslam was conducted on Lahore
and the significance of the book in relation to the
city. Fashion designer Sonya Battla who was one of
the ladies profiled in the book spoke on behalf of
the thirteen other women and Yousuf Bashir Qureshi
of YBQ design studios chatted to the audience about
the purpose of the book and where Still Waters Publishing
envisions the book in the future. The final words
of the evening were delivered by Kiran Aman who acknowledged
all those who had helped the book become a reality.
Post speeches, guests were introduced
to an audio visual tour of the book which included
a view of all the jewellery pieces symbolic of the
book and Kiran’s emotional state philosophy
after which guests were invited to an intimate book
signing with the featured ladies, along with Kiran
Aman and Khadija Malik Hassan.

of the book and event management was executed by Omari
Design Studio Productions in association with Aslam
of Inventions and Barry of the Wow Factor.

Word in Lahore at a retail price of Rs. 3,500/-
