Pakistan’s leading
luxury service providers, Havana International, brought
to the country, crystal lifestyle house, Lalique,
with the official launch of its flagship store in
Karachi on Wednesday 28 May 2008.
The launch was held
at the Lalique outlet in Karachi’s prestigious
shopping district Zamzama. In attendance were a number
of renowned personalities including founder, visionary
and chairman of Havana International, Hamid Ali Khan,
French Counsul General Pierre Seillan and Commercial
Counsellor Francis Widmer, Director Decoration of Lalique
for all regions Jean-Christophe Carel as well as the
Directeur De Zone Middle East, Asia & Africa Edouard
De Buchet, who had flown in specially for the event.
Celebrated personality Hussain Haroon, Hassan Ali Khan,
Journalist and fashion critic Mohsin Sayed were also
present among others.
A delightful evening
of cocktails and hors d’ oeuvres, the launch included
the absolutely breath taking Lalique crystal collection
on display, and was indeed a testament to the aesthetic
taste and palate of the French, of which Lalique is
a bona fide manifestation.
Setting itself
apart by a diversity of facets including the brands
generational experience, with artiste Renee Lalique
as one of the pioneers of crystal modelling and indeed
sculpting since 1921, as its creator. Lalique’s
refined signature style is also one of its exclusive
features, with each piece and creation handcrafted and
untouched by modern machinery. Indeed Lalique’s
strong Art Nouveau and Art Deco inspirations add strength
and lightness to the ornate masterpieces of the past
and present.
Speaking at
the launch, Directeur De Zone Middle East, Asia &
Africa, Edouard De Buchet said “We are extremely
thrilled to be in Pakistan with Havana International,
and we believe Pakistan is a very important emerging
market. We have ensured Lalique in Pakistan is at par
with all other Lalique outlets across the globe, and
we intend on launching a new collection, twice every
year.”
Speaking about
the launch, Asif Hanafi, group strategy manager of Havana

introduce Lalique in Pakistan. The launch of Lalique
in the country heralds a new and significant addition
to luxury living, saving our customers the hassle of
having to purchase the Lalique pieces from abroad. We
will be developing Lalique in Pakistan further with
launches in Lahore later this year to provide premium
product enthusiasts in Pakistan with quality, reliability
and transparency within a diversity of luxury services
in 2008.”
